JW's committed to looking after AIDs sufferers
by A Paduan injust kidding - for the true christians, it's strange how something like that would come as such a suprise

"whoever loves family more than me"
by A Paduan inthe disgust at the jw dumping of loved ones is expressed often on this board - it does seem ironic that the teaching is the reverse situation to what jws believe.
once knowing the truth about the "troof", who can blind themselves for the sake of keeping favour with families - perhaps some even do.
the jws are taught to accept lies and bullshit, and more, in favour of keeping their "brothers and sisters, or mother".

Snake oil salesmen
by A Paduan in.
at church on sunday the parable of the ten virgins was read (indeed in every catholic church in the world, to perhaps a billion people - amazes me every week that).. anyway, i thought about how when it was announced that the groom was indeed coming, the five went to buy their oil (gladness) from the dealers, as opposed to the other five who were always ready and glad to be with him, be it children, ill people, prisoners or hobos.. and then i thought, did that guy "literally" sell snake oil?

Can we use their own website
by A Paduan inon another thread below gerard presents some material from the jw website which demonstrates the ludicrously double standard of jw thought (this one about how scripture is "plainly" understood) .
from my outsiders perspective, i think that material that is currently put forward by them which can easily be revealed as utterly hypocritical, would be a very useful tool for showing to your jw family etc.
is there somewhere here that we can make a database of current ludicrousy of argument - which actually can be plainly understood.

Are there stats?
by A Paduan inhas anyone read data about religious denomination / mental heath issues.
my perceptions from working is that jws are well represented as mental health consumers, but then again there may just be more of them living in the region.
there are many people living as mh care consumers, but are all denominations equally represented?

Adding death to death
by A Paduan init has occurred to me that jws may suffer something like second death and that's part of the aversion to the whole religion - that you can't revive them.
whereas people can accept that others fail at social obligation (sin), it is in some way understood and forgiven.
however, when the perpetrators deny it all (unless caught), the whole thing takes on a 'new light'.

temptation in the wilderness
by A Paduan in.
pamy was baptised, but since then she had not eaten spiritual food - now older she was getting quite hungry.
then she was approached and shown all the splendour of the earth and told, "all this could be yours" - if only she would agree to revere and serve.. well, we can't all be switched on as christ.. paduan

eating blood - made easy
by A Paduan ini've posted this stuff before, but here it is again.
the pharisees understood old testament laws on eating certain animals as applying to their flesh - hence the saying, "their god is their belly".
the eating laws were for spiritual teaching (and not a word of the law has passed away).

re: hearing with your ears and not the heart
by A Paduan ini have posted a thread that plainly refutes the blood prohibition of jwism - yet no one even posted a comment.
does anyone even read the bible with spiritual ears - or is it a history book of facts to be sifted through for 'a sign' ?
briefly, the "eating laws" in the old testament are a spiritual teaching on behaviouraside from ancient sources, this is plainly evident in jesus' own wordsit is necessary that we "eat jesus' blood" to have lifeso where do we find his blood now?
